More About Piñatas

How do you play the piñata game?

First, fill your piñata with toys and/or candy. Then find a safe place to hang the piñata with a strong rope above the ground, over the heads of the children.  An adult should hold the loose end and raise/lower the piñata.

Pull String:
Allow each child to firmly pull one of the ribbons hanging beneath the piñata. Only one ribbon will release the candy and goodies inside!

Traditional Piñata Game (with stick):
Have children stand 15 ft away from the piñata. Each child at time should get a chance to hit the piñata. Swinging it up and down makes it more challenging. Also, blindfolding the child is a traditional way of hitting the piñata while others direct the hitter yelling out the position of the piñata (“Up, down, left, or right”).
